I committed a crime in a previous post by using the number 5 instead of five.  I didn't start the sentence with it, though.

We all commit grammatical errors on occasion.  We commit spelling errors and we omit critical words.  Nowadays no one thinks anything of it.  In 1631 printers Robert Barker and Martin Lucas published what they thought was about 1000 copies of the Holy Bible.  Two critical errors changed their lives.  In Exodus 20:14 the word "not" was left out of "Thou shalt not commit adultery" and in Deuteronomy 5:24, the word "greatness" appears as "great-asse" making a sentence read "Behold, the Lord our God hath shewed us his glory and his great-asse".  The printers were charged, heavily fined and lost their printing license.

I assure you the Prime Minister of Great Britain has nothing to hide from the President of the United States. Spoken by Winston Churchill when FDR walked into his hotel room to find Churchill stark naked after getting out of the bath.

I don't know if it's true or not, but I've read accounts that say Mr. Churchill was quite often seen in his birthday suit.

"Pardon my French" became a disclaimer for using foul language, but it did not start out that way. During the Victorian era people would often sprinkle in French words as an example of how refined or educated they were. A subtle show of being upper class.

Victorian novels featuring the upper class always have characters throwing in a few French words and phrases. Even Americans did it.

Not a quote per se:  Congresswoman AOC recently announced she was having her eggs frozen.  Comedian Greg Gutfeld said she might be freezing them because she might want to have an abortion some day.  Cruel but she asked for it after pushing for late-term abortions.
