Re:QUOTES Date Posted:2026-07-21 11:18:11Copy HTML I committed a crime in a previous post by using the number 5 instead of five. I didn't start the sentence with it, though. "It is forbidden to spit on cats in plague-time."

Re:QUOTES Date Posted:2026-07-22 10:27:24Copy HTML We all commit grammatical errors on occasion. We commit spelling errors and we omit critical words. Nowadays no one thinks anything of it. In 1631 printers Robert Barker and Martin Lucas published what they thought was about 1000 copies of the Holy Bible. Two critical errors changed their lives. In Exodus 20:14 the word "not" was left out of "Thou shalt not commit adultery" and in Deuteronomy 5:24, the word "greatness" appears as "great-asse" making a sentence read "Behold, the Lord our God hath shewed us his glory and his great-asse". The printers were charged, heavily fined and lost their printing license.
