Public Enemy #1, John Dillinger, shot & killed outside of a movie theater in Chicago by FBI agents. His yearlong crime spree brought to an end after he was set up by Anna Sage, a whore from Romania. She did it for the $5,000 reward & a promise not to be deported for being a person of low moral character. She got the $ but was deported anyway. |

The Pan/Am Clipper Endeavor wreckage found off Puerto Rico after 74 years. The crash & loss of life inspired the now routine pre-flight instructions given to passengers by the flightcrew. Endeavor was a DC-4 which was about the size of the current Boeing 737. |

It stated that the town could hold an annual fair on 24 July. Today that fair is sadly a much smaller event held at St Michael's Church and it's going ahead tomorrow. 775 years of history.
