The concert sounds like it was a lot of fun.  LRB did some good music.

July 22, 1934 Public Enemy #1, John Dillinger, shot & killed outside of a movie theater in Chicago by FBI agents. His yearlong crime spree brought to an end after he was set up by Anna Sage, a whore from Romania. She did it for the $5,000 reward & a promise not to be deported for being a person of low moral character. She got the $ but was deported anyway.

July 22, 2026 The Pan/Am Clipper Endeavor wreckage found off Puerto Rico after 74 years. The crash & loss of life inspired the now routine pre-flight instructions given to passengers by the flightcrew. Endeavor was a DC-4 which was about the size of the current Boeing 737.

The big one they're still looking for is the Malaysian Airlines flight 370, a Boeing 777 which disappeared over the Indian Ocean in 2014 with 239 on board.

The consensus is that the pilot decided to kill himself and take the whole plane with him.

That seems very late, they must have visited Canada or Mexico before that?

775 years ago this month in 1251 my home town was granted a market charter by King Henry III. It stated that the town could hold an annual fair on 24 July. Today that fair is sadly a much smaller event held at St Michael's Church and it's going ahead tomorrow. 775 years of history.
