FDR signs Executive Order 9066 which orders the internment of 112,000 Japanese/Americans to 10 camps. Mostly from the West Coast of the U.S. & thought to be sympathetic to Japanese interests.

1855 Southern England Mysterious hoofprints appeared over 100 miles, on the snow-covered ground & even rooftops. Known as the Devil's footprints with the origin unknown to this day.

It seems likely, owing to the lack of direct evidence, that the extent of the footprints was exaggerated, they were nowhere near 100 miles in length. Despite that no-one has come up with an acceptable explanation. One theory is that it was a runaway balloon from the Naval Dockyard at Devonport, but hushed up because it damaged a number of properties with its trailing wires.

From a book published in 1985 using the testimony of a local man from the time who knew of an "escaped" balloon that drifted across country. 

Although I've just looked into it and the British did not begin balloon experiments until 1862.

May 1, 1898 Battle of Manila Bay. Commodore George Dewey destroyed the entire Spanish fleet with seven U.S. Navy cruisers. Leading from his flagship Olympia he became an Admiral of the Navy for his exploits.

We"d been softening up those degoes for centuries before you got to them. There was nothing left in them, they were already shell shocked.

April 1945 General Patton reaches the Elbe River in Germany & meets with the Soviet commander. After a celebratory drink of vodka & speeches, Patton reveals to his confidents................"We are fighting the wrong enemy." Medieval Europe Spice merchants increased the value of their goods by misrepresenting their origins. Example: cinnamon was harvested from giant bird nests on cliffs. Pepper came from jungles guarded by poisonous snakes. Hmm, sound like the used cars salesman of today.
