Edinburgh, Scotland, condemned woman Maggie Dickson hanged publicly. Her crime was concealing the death of her newborn child. She was declared dead by a doctor & placed in a coffin. Before burial there was movement in the coffin, she was still alive. What to do now? She could not be tried again because of double jeopardy. She lived for many years after, running a neighborhood pub in Edinburg. Imagine the tales told there? |
