U.S. Battleship Wisconsin was hit by a 155mm North Korean shell causing minor damage. In turn, Wisconsin fired all 9 of her 16-inch Mark 7 guns at the target on shore. This prompted a message from her escort ship..........."Temper, Temper." |

Jock strap invented to protect bicycle messengers in Boston while riding over cobblestone streets. In 1977 the sports bra was invented by sewing two jock straps together. Now protection of all personal bits had come "full circle." |

New Zealand troops take Chunuk Baer during the Gallipoli campaign. Ottoman troops took it back on August 10, 1916, with only 70 of 760 Anzac troops left standing. |

The first alarm for getting up in the morning invented in China. A nail was placed into a lighted candle upon going to bed. During the night the wax melted & the candle fell into a metal plate beneath the candle. The nail made a sound when it hit the metal plate & woke the sleeper up. |
