The Vikings had a "wash day" every week. They bathed, used soap, & scissors to trim up hair & beards. This greatly impressed the English who were not used to such hygiene. |

The French government builds a sewer system which turns out to be a breeding ground for rats. To keep the city from being overrun by the rodents, the governor offers a bounty of one cent given for each rat tail turned in. The clever Vietnamese soon learned to surgically remove the tails of the rats & then release them back into the sewers to breed again. Just another French plan gone awry. |
