Visited the oldest house in Stoke-on-Trent today - Ford Green Hall, a yeoman farmer's house. The centre block in black and white dates from 1624, the two wings were added a century later. Very good inside, lots of dark wood panelling and period displays, Shula would have been at home in the kitchen I think. 

An interesting feature is what's carved above what was the original front door (today it's inside a later porch) RAPHE SUTTON CARPENTER.. An early advertisement? If you display my name over your door for people to see my handiwork I'll give you a discount?
