I would say that there was Brit Paratrooper along with Canadian ones that would have landed behind the American beaches. Most but not all American Para landed further along and east of the beaches because they had different objectives to take. In the movie the Longest Day you see the American troops meeting up with a Canadian Para who was hiding behind a bridge. The actor was trying to talk with a Canadian accent but failed badly.

Each para group, be it American or British and Canadians weren't given the same orders or passwords for security reason so it was a miracle that they didn't end up shooting each other especially in the dark when they first landed behind the lines.
