It must be true, it was on Fox. Tucker Carlson, in an effort to promote insecure MAGA men, is promoting a documentary called The End of Men, with tips on how to raise testosterone levels. One of these "tips" is "testicle tanning" which involves exposing male parts to red LED light.

Former Fox News host Bill O'Reilly was videoed threatening a JetBlue worker when his flight from NY City to Turks & Caicos was delayed three hours. "You f---ing scumbag" said O'Reilly, 72, "you're going to lose your job."

Tennessee Republican state Senator Frank Niceley cited Adolf Hitler as proof that homelessness isn't a "dead end," claiming that Hitler lived on the streets in his younger days but then went on to lead a life that got him into the history books.

I have been trying to tell you this about what the Republicans are offering up to take over the house and senate. Lincoln would turn over in his grave if he knew.

I have to say we have a few conservative dandies. One running against Premier Ford of Ontario has hired Roger Stone of all people to run his election campaign. Stone was the one convicted on serveral charged but his friend Trump pardoned him.

John Lennon's Rolls Royce Limousine is a Psychedelic, Souped-Up Work of Art

Do you remember where you were on February 9, 1964? I do. I was 16 years old and living in West Vancouver. That evening, as my sister and I lay on the living room floor watching The Ed Sullivan Show, history was made. The Beatles performed live and the five songs they sang were burned into our collective consciousness. They played “All My Loving,” “Till There Was You,” “She Loves You,” “I Saw Her Standing There,” and “I Want to Hold Your Hand.”

What we saw on that black-and-white screen changed everything. The long hair, the infectious personalities, the sharp suits, the well-scrubbed faces, the audience of hysterical teenage girls, and the music... Beatlemania, broadcast live, right in our own home.

It was wonderful while it lasted. Now, the Beatles live on through their music—and some memorabilia that they left behind. One such piece of history is John Lennon’s Rolls Royce Phantom V Touring Limousine. Lennon commissioned additions to the 1965 classic such as a bed, custom paintwork and even a record player. The newly decorated yellow car was delivered to Lennon in 1967, just before the “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” album was released.

The Royal B.C. Museum in Victoria currently owns the iconic car. It was purchased at auction in 1985 for more than two million dollars by Canadian businessman Jim Pattison. He donated the Rolls to the province in 1992. It has been in the museum collection for nearly 30 years, but is usually kept in storage. It was on display in the lobby in 2016, and again for one day only in 2017. In January 2020, it was free for viewing daily for about six weeks in the museum lobby. What a treat!

Actually all the work including the bed was done at Rolls.

Rolls now adays will do anything you ask for as long as your paying and can afford the wait time it takes. i think it was almost 2 years wait for John's.

No it wasn't Pete. The original car was built by Rolls and the extras done by the body specialists Mulliner Park Ward. Once the car was in Lennon's hands he had artist Steve Weaver paint it psychedelic, which upset Rolls no end. Rolls will not do anything you ask, not for any amount of money. They will consider all requests but if you think they will mount a statue of a blowjob on the front of the radiator, you're sadly mistaken.

Just goes to show you how far Britain is back in the pack.

I still see a lot of them at the Friday night car show here in town. Will be starting again soon as the weather gets nicer.

With all the old classic cars they drive, white walls look better than just straight black.

When young people hear white walls they thing you are talking about one of the funny haircuts that are in style for them now. From the top of the ears down is shaved off down to the skin so the walls of their heads is white. Think even Tommy has gone to this style now.

I'm a huge fan of veteran and vintage Yank cars. They're flamboyant, outrageous at times but there's nothing quite like them. I like white wall tyres, they add a certain class to class. There is an industry in vintage tyres for vintage cars, road and racing. They look like the originals, with tyre patterns etc but are made of material that will keep them stuck to the road.

Biden is "done" like a dinner. Inflation, border security, Afghanistan withdrawal, energy dependence, vaccine mandates, crime wave, siding with teacher's union over parents, are all associated with the Biden legacy. Will he run again you ask? Well most doctors when examining a sick patient would call what Biden has is.............multiple organ failure & it is terminal. But wait................Biden is at least stubborn & persistent with a decades long pursuit of the presidency. He is not likely to quit on his own. Could we be doomed with another Biden/Trump clash in 2024. Like two old rams bashing heads on the slippery political slope.

When you ask young guys where do you go to get your hair cut they will tell you the name of a hair dressers salon. I am glad to say I still go to the same barbershop that I started to go to after I retires fron the military.

Not the same barber thought as the first 3 than have all passed away.

Where have you been girl, I've done that a thousand times already and have also shown you all what picture I accessed from my computer on the aimoo help page. I'm up to 9 full days of trying now.

I will post the picture that I'm trying to use from my pictures again for you to see if you missed the other two. Very simple not too large of a size as you can see. I get as far as picking the picture and putting it in the little square and then it tells me to wait before I download it. I keep going back and it still says wait. I have been waiting 9 days now.

Babs at the form you were asking about was telling people you may have to wait up to 24 hours because the Chinese techs that have to change it  and are in a different time zone.

Washington State's Mount Walker A woman was voiding herself in the vault toilet (a large outhouse) when she dropped her ever-present cellphone into the pit. Apparently she was a multi-tasker. Horrified she tied a dog leash to herself & attempted to fish out her valued phone. Well the leash broke & she fell head first into the waste pit. But fate was with her & she landed face first onto her phone which remarkably still was functional. She notified 911 & hero firefighters arrived & fished her out of the shit-pit. After being saved she declined medical attention & only wanted to leave. She was good-natured about her ordeal though, & left with a "shit-eating" grin.

Re:RECENT HISTORY

: A big moment for equal pay

We’ve written multiple recent newsletters about the possible impending demise of Roe v. Wade, the 1973 Supreme Court decision that gave American women the right to obtain an abortion.

Today there’s reason to focus on another topic related to gender and with ties to a major 1970s milestone.

The big news in gender equality is that the US Soccer Federation announced a new 50-50 split in the way it pays men and women competing for the US national soccer teams. The deal announced on Wednesday means both sides will receive the same pay and prize money, including for participating at World Cups.

The agreement is the result of years of lawsuits and lobbying by players for the spectacular US Women’s National Team.

The idea of the women’s side achieving parity with the fair-to-middling (by international soccer standards) US Men’s National Team is something to celebrate.

“This is a truly historic moment,” said US Soccer President Cindy Parlow Cone in a statement on Wednesday, according to CNN’s report. “These agreements have changed the game forever here in the United States and have the potential to change the game around the world.”

It’s not just about money, but also should improve the training and playing environment for American women. Supporters hope the agreement will be a worldwide model.

50 years of Title IX

Another worldwide model for gender equality is Title IX, the civil rights law signed in June 1972, less than a year before the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision. It prohibits discrimination based on sex in education programs or activities that receive federal money, including sports.

Title IX has also been the subject of numerous lawsuits and controversies, most recently around how transgender college athletes should be included in competition.

It’s hard not to see the US Women’s National Team’s success as a beneficiary of Title IX and the outsize growth of women’s sports in the US compared with other countries.

While Wednesday’s agreement is another step toward equality, there’s clearly still a long way to go, as I learned when I wrote about Title IX back in 2019 after the US Women’s National Team won their second consecutive World Cup.

Women in sports still make a LOT less money

Despite the revenue-sharing agreement for US soccer, the economics of women’s professional sports are very different than they are for American men.

Brittney Griner is the American basketball player being wrongfully held in Russia.

A seven-time Women’s National Basketball Association All-Star, she started playing in Russia in 2015 during the league’s offseason – in search of a larger paycheck than the low six-figure salaries the WNBA offers top players.

The equivalent to Griner in the NBA might be Kyrie Irving, a seven-time All-Star and US national team player who makes tens of millions of dollars. While she needed to spend part of the year playing in Russia to make money, he didn’t play home games this season because he refused to get a Covid-19 vaccine.

A $10,000 American pay gap

For American women more generally, the pay gap between men and women is smaller than it used to be, but it is still annoyingly large.

The national median earnings for an American man are $53,544, according to the Census Bureau. Women make about $10,000 less in a year, at $43,394, although the gap varies across the country.

Pay gaps across the US

Women and men are paid on essentially equal footing in Puerto Rico, although the wages for both men and women there are half the median elsewhere in the country.

There is a discrepancy in every US state – a $21,000-plus gap in Wyoming (the highest) and a gap below $5,000 in Vermont (the lowest), according to the Census data, which is based on surveys and reflects information from 2019.

Why does the pay gap exist?

Here’s what the Census Bureau statistician Megan Wisniewski wrote in March: “There are a multitude of factors that may contribute to earnings differences between women and men: age, number of hours worked, presence of children, and education. The types of jobs women and men hold, and the earnings difference among these occupations also contribute to gaps in overall earnings.”

Also in March, on Equal Pay Day, CNN asked a number of successful women leaders in business and politics to explain the pay gap and what could be done about it. The reasons noted in several of the responses were that women shoulder more responsibility in American homes, it’s often hard to uncover the pay gap, and it’s difficult for women to pursue both a family and a career.

Read all the responses here.

Their suggestions ranged from new laws to require parity to more help paying for child care and more transparency about what men and women are making.

More American women now graduate from college than men

So much has changed for American women since the ’70s, and not just in college sports.

In 1970, before Title IX, 12% of women ages 25 to 34 received a bachelor’s degree, compared with 20% of US men. In 2021, it was nearly half of women, 46%, who earned a bachelor’s degree, compared with a smaller proportion of men, 36%, according to the Pew Research Center.

But the pay gap persists

The overall pay gap, which changes depending on education and career, averages to American women making 83 cents for every dollar American men make, per 2020 data.

Back in the early ’70s, before Roe v. Wade and Title IX, the gap was closer to 61 cents for every dollar.

Progress has been slow and incomplete.
