Re:Politics Date Posted:2025-07-16 02:39:48Copy HTML If I understood the news right, NATO is going to take over supplying the Ukraine with arms purchased from the U.S. Does this technically take us out of the conflict?

Re:Politics Date Posted:2025-07-16 02:44:34Copy HTML I suppose it does, although I'm sure the USA will still be providing satellite information etc to Ukraine. As far as equipment goes it'll be like Lend-Lease in the early days of WW II, in but not in as it were. Seems a fair solution to me as long as Trump puts no restrictions on the sale and use of weapons, whatever Ukraine wants it should get. You're playing chess with Fate and Fate's winning.

Re:Politics Date Posted:2025-07-16 02:46:40Copy HTML With the U.S. receiving payment from Ukraine in the form of minerals & other resources means we have a "skin" in the game. |

Are you meaning to tell me that Putin’s best mate and puppet is selling (ie giving) weapons to his enemies? I don’t believe it. Tell me this is a joke. |

Re:Politics Date Posted:2025-07-16 10:37:14Copy HTML Putin had his chance to stay on Trump's good side. It may be that his people don't want him to cooperate with a U.S. president, though.

Re:Politics Date Posted:2025-07-17 05:18:36Copy HTML The only thing that matters to Putin now is defeating Ukraine, delivering something he can claim as a victory. The economy can suffer, thousands can die but he must have a victory, hence I suspect he'll pummel Ukraine over the next seven weeks. You're playing chess with Fate and Fate's winning.

Re:Politics Date Posted:2025-07-17 09:39:47Copy HTML Surely he knows by now that Ukraine is not coming back to the Russian fold, so I suspect some sort of land concession will be the only "victory" he will claim. I agree that Ukraine is in for a lot more pummeling -- until NATO gets those arms to them, then it will be Russia's turn to take a pummeling. How many dead does it take to end a war?

Re:Politics Date Posted:2025-07-17 11:30:00Copy HTML For Putin there's no limit. If he was told they could take a devastated village that's no more than a pile of rubble but it would cost him 1000 Russian lives he'd say go ahead. You're playing chess with Fate and Fate's winning.
