Re:Politics Date Posted:2025-04-18 10:47:49Copy HTML Trump is treading the path to authoritarianism, that's how Hitler and Mussolini began, by fooling the simple-minded that it was all in the national interest. Trump talks big on free speech yet shuts it down if the "free" isn't to his liking, Hitler did that. Just where do you get this shite from. Nobody in US history has undergone such national abuse as Trump. Newspapers television talk shows the media Hollywood et have thy all been shut down. The US is a free country and will be a lot freer when Trump leaves office |

Re:Politics Date Posted:2025-04-18 11:17:29Copy HTML Biden did it too when he required social media to censor all posts that weren't in line with the Administration's COVID policies. Anything that disagreed with those policies was deemed "disinformation" and earned the authors of such posts a stint in "facebook jail". That was one giant leap for authoritarianism. Trump restored free speech on those platforms. My beloved Marcus, just because Grey has criticisms of Ukraine doesn't mean she is pro-Russia. Personally, I think Zelensky is acting like a two-year-old having a temper tantrum in the grocery store. For instance, his refusal to wear a suit for a meeting with President Trump was to show his defiance and disrespect. The regard is equal on Trump's part. Now is the time for Zelensky to put on his big boy pants and start negotiating. I'm not pro-Russia either, but the bleeding has to stop sometime. "It is forbidden to spit on cats in plague-time."

Re:Politics Date Posted:2025-04-18 01:56:58Copy HTML China has already lost this trade war in just a few weeks, which it knew it would. China is a world powerhouse built on sand. Right now many factories are going bankrupt, leaving workers stranded and they are unbelievably going on strikes and protests a crime that can get you shot. Foreign companies are packing their bags, Volkswagen being the latest to do so and they have a number of factories there. Right now 75 countries have come to the table to make a deal with the US but China has that face problem to deal with all of the time. Everybody thinks that China holds the cards, they are the big boy now but nothing could be further from the truth. The US has 350 million people yet controls two thirds of global consumption. For every three dollars spent in the world, the US spends one of them. The dollar is the world’s passport and the US own it. China needs US trade so badly it’s a case of selling off cheap to many countries whose currency is on a level of a monopoly board, who wants that? China needs dollars, real money and the US has it. Did you know that the US holds 1/20th of the world’s population yet has 1/3 of the world’s consumption? The Chinese economy is built on sand and the other power, Russia exists on gas and oil exports, as it has nothing the west wants to buy. |

What happened to Trump's pre-Election boast of ending the Ukraine War on day one? It's day 88 and the war is still raging. In fact he's threatened to withdraw from negotiations altogether in a massive failure of leadership. Putin played him like a puppet from the start. As for Zelensky not wearing a suit, what does it matter? Talks ended by Trump because he didn't wear a suit? How pathetic. I don't recall Musk doing so nor Kid Rock (whoever he is).

Re:Politics Date Posted:2025-04-19 12:11:20Copy HTML Trump isn’t playing games with China, in fact I think he’s hell bent on dropping them down the world leaderboard. Does this feller never sleep? He’s presently working to keep China out of certain international markets and he’s bribing South American countries with deals to ditch China |

Re:Politics Date Posted:2025-04-19 01:50:30Copy HTML One aspect I think a lot of people ignore is that anyone who sits at Trump's table gets to talk. Some like the conversation and some don't. If he asks one why such-and-such a product is imported into their country from another country at no tariff but the same product from America costs a fortune in tariffs, there will be some seat squirming. Others will be very happy with the conversation when everyone gets a good deal. Trump is the Jerry Lee Lewis of world business right now -- there's "a whole lotta shakin' goin' on".

Re:Politics Date Posted:2025-04-19 04:01:28Copy HTML Italy is talking to Trump about trade and tariffs. The EU is joining Argentina and wants zero tariffs for both sides. In my opinion, this is a win-win for everyone, This article has a list of countries working on trade deals with Trump, https://www.foxbusiness.com/economy/here-every-country-working-trade-deals-us . Some people need to understand, that tariffs are legal and constitutional in the US. Tariffs were used before the unconstitutional income tax was passed. Trump is using tariffs as a tool. He wants a better deal for the US. |
