Your hatred of Trump has warped your once famous reasoning. Tom once told us that anybody, no matter how poor, who entered US government, came away a millionaire. Literally billions has been stolen from the government and thousands have got rich screwing the people. It’s all coming apart now and I can’t understand why nobody has been charged yet. Stand by for another day of stock market chaos thanks to the idiot Trump. Being the Great Disruptor sounds fine on paper but what the cretin doesn't realize is that business doesn't react well to massive disruption all at once.

What will it be today, tariffs up or down? Talks with partners or not? Making up the agenda for the day whilst sitting on the toilet isn't quite what the world needs right now.

It's not as if Trump was a great businessman anyway, how many times did he go bankrupt with inherited money?

Have you took lessons from Mr Conspiricy? Paranoia is incredibly common amongst antiTrumpers. The stock exchange goes up and down every day, some days more than others. All it is in a nutshell is a glorified Bookies. You talk about Trump backing off with the tariffs, no he’s not, he’s playing the game of brinkmanship.  Frankly, he holds the four aces and by every means possible he will end up striking deals that benefit the US. That’s all he’s about.

They sure are Mark, nothing more that a group of White Nationalists carpet baggers who think that anyone who isn't white shouldn't be allowed in America. Be it Black, Yellow, Brown or Olive.

I totally agree. The stock market has nothing to do with the economy.

They are separate and should be separate.

Trump is pausing the tariffs, to give nations time to negotiate a new or no

tariff with the US. Argentina is interested in zero tariffs with the US.

I look for other nations to do the same thing. It would be a win-win for

the US and each nation.

It sure does, tell the seniors who have lost their life saving and now can't afford food or rent with the over priced economy caused directly by Trump on purpose. He is controlling the markets and probably invests in when he knows it will be down and then when he and his billions friends think it low enough throw their money in knowing ahead of time that Trump will say something like I'm taking the tariffs off and the markets will take a large positive jump. No different that how Putin controlled the markets in Russia and did the same.

The stock market is an indicator of the health of the economy, shares go up if all is well, they go down if things are not OK or if business senses uncertainty and that is what Trump has delivered - uncertainty. Until we know what he's doing and I doubt if we ever will as he makes it up each day, things can only slide further.

It's as if he has no real grasp of reality, as if the whole thing is a game, the numbers aren't real. But for many millions of people they are very real.

We are witnessing the birth of a dual state by radical reinterpretation of federal law & appointment of officials more loyal to MAGA than the Constitution. Migrants deprived of due process & shipped to foreign prisons while Jan. 6 rioters are given pardons & praise. It's worth remembering that the Nazis began with a two-track system: a capitalist economy with stable laws for most Germans, & a domain of lawlessness & state violence for Jews & other supposed internal enemies. Of course, a dual state need not end in genocide, & need not spark mass opposition, since the lawless domain may not touch the lives of most citizens, who can turn away while dissidents & scapegoats lose their political liberty. But that doesn't mean the favored are safe. History shows that once the lawless state is built, it can swallow anyone. Source The Atlantic

Our Homeland Security secretary, Kristi Noem, "The Dog Killer," went to El Salvador for a photo op at the CECOT prison where the Trump administration sent the Venezuelan illegal immigrants suspected of being gang members. In a video Noem parades in front of the prisoners with a well-groomed blowout hairdo, sporting a Rolex watch, a baseball cap with ICE logo, form fitting T-shirt, skinny drawstring pants & combat boots. Must have been cruel & unusual punishment for the inmates, but I enjoyed it.

The stock market allows companies to sell shares of their company to investors.

This gives money to companies to expand, sell other products, etc.

It is totally different from the economy.

The gang members that were sent to a prison in El Salvador were in gangs,

that committed both criminal and terrorist acts, in the US and other countries.

El Salvador built it and cracked down on their gangs. This is how bad things were.

The problem is that the Biden-Harris regime allowed the criminals to come to the

US illegally. They did not care that they committed crimes against US citizens.

This is totally different from Nazi Germany.

How about the so called gang member who was picked up by mistake and isn't a gang member at all. A judge stepped in and said you have to bring him back to the States and I don't care what it takes to get him back. He was taken to a notarize  Argentina prison. Now the person in charge said he can't and asked why he said we can't find him right now.

So this is the caliber of people you want to run your country?? Are you all on stupid pills or something down there.

Here we have Tommy who, while a broad supporter of Trump as a better alternative to Harris, is fully cognizant of his failings and the potential dangers he poses. Then we have Grey who is one of those simple fools, Trumpanzees, his sheeple who think he can do no wrong. I take my lead from Tommy on US politics not from a brainwashed simpleton.

A challenge to Grey should you chose to accept it -

I am not 100% anti-Trump and his policies, I agree with his deportation plans and would like to see something like it over here. So I invite you to come up with a few words of criticism of his tariff and international trade policy, the one that has seen the stock market, the dollar and US bonds fall dramatically in a week. And has resulted in a dire loss of trust in the US as a fair partner, all to China's gain, the very opposite of what Trump intended. Or perhaps you approve of this unholy chaos that has literally made the world a lot less safer place?

I think we should wait and see what fruit Trump’s strategy produces. He’s radically different from any other president and does not allow himself to be silenced by protocol. I personally think he’ll triumph, not to his full extent but the US will come out better off. If I criticise him and I do, but not on here for obvious reasons, it’s because he,s moving amight too quickly. There’s always tomorrow Don.

This is an example for the due process thingy, or lack of it.  I am inclined to want all these thugs out of the country, but it has to be done properly from the start. When you deny due process to one group it can easily be denied for the rest of us down the pike. This is a slippery slope we must avoid, as distasteful as it is with the current crop of gang bangers. But they are different from us, so it is easy to agree with the tactics................but be careful, very careful.

Methinks that is part of his strategy, Major. By him acting "hasty" if forces the opponent to act in kind. If a mistake is made, Trump jumps on it to his advantage.

I am a Trump supporter, but Trump is a man. No one is perfect.

On the issue of tariffs, did you know that other countries have been charging

the US tariffs for years? The US is tired of being ripped off. We have the

right to charge a country a matching tariff. I like Argentina's proposed

zero tariff deal with the US. It would be a win-win for both countries.

I would welcome other countries to make the same offer.

I have said this in other posts. In the long run, it would be a win-win

for the US and the countries that want it.

I don't see the point of Grey having to prove she isn't a "trumpanzee" by criticizing a policy she fully believes in.  If the reason I can only afford fancy imported foods at the holidays is because the exporting country is charging an unfair tariff on the U.S., then I'm all for a trade re-set. That doesn't make me a "trumpanzee" either.

No on both counts.

Trump backing down on certain tariffs on Chinese electronics, of course he is, he GOT IT WRONG and not for the first time. Wiser heads than his (that's everyone else) must have told him that what he's doing will lead to economic disaster. Perhaps it's finally penetrating his thick skull that he can't treat world trade as a game in which he alone calls the shots.
