In 1974 a Chinese farmer accidentally uncovers one of the greatest archeological jewels in all history, the Chinese terracotta army, 8,000 terracotta soldiers to guard the Emperor Shi Huang (259 BC) and every single one has a different face.

May have sorted out the video thingy. You don't seem to be able to add a video on a page with text on it and have you have to send it on a blank page.

In those two videos I posted, you see this gentleman John Richardson a Capt. with the Ontario Regiment. I meet him a few years back when I took my father to a Regimental Re-union in Oshawa.

He was at the same Battle of Aquino Airport where they were trying to break through the Hitler Line. They lost 13 tanks that day, my father's being one of them.

No photo description available.

It   is with great sadness that we report the passing of Capt. John   Richardson.  Ont.R WWII Veteran, and veteran of the Battle of Aquino.

John was in his 101st year and will be missed by all.

No photo description available.

You will also see this gentleman below in the second video. His name is Ned Amy. I meet and introduced myself to him in Germany as my father was his driver in England and in the first part of Italy.

He is the Brig General sitting in the middle.  The Ontario Tank Regiment, The Three Rivers Regiment and the Calgary Regiment made up the First Div. It was the Calgary Regiment that took the beating while trying to take Dieppe. The Brigade stayed together through Sicily, Italy and Holland.

May be an image of one or more people

Molson Canadian?

Yes, Ned didn't only bring himself to the Regiments Birthday in Lahr Germany, he came by one of our 707's and brought a couple of skids of Canadian beer with him for the troops.

In Italy during the war he picked up one of those large wicker covered bottles of red wine and brought it back to the tank. My father said the bottle must have held at least 5 gallons of it.

By the time it was all gone, my father never drank wine anymore for the rest of his life. I imagine in the Italian hot sun it was pretty warm wine when they were drinking it.

1912 Robert Falcon Scott, leader of the British attempt to be the first to the South Pole writes his last entry in his diary, it simply says.... the end cannot be far.

You know why Scott stopped writing in his diary, eh?

It was because his pencil ran out of lead. Or so said my big sister when we watched the movie on TV.

The Salem witch trials were held in Massachusetts from 1696-1693 & those convicted were burned at the stake for their witchery. WRONG. Although over 200 were accused of being witches, most were jailed after being convicted, some were hanged, one was stoned to death, but none were burned at the stake. You can go back to the 15th Century to find this sort of thing. Matteucccia de Francesco of the Papal States claimed to have flown on the back of a demon, was convicted & burned at the stake.

The last burnings at the stake in America were in colonial pre-1776 times.

The last over here was as late as 1789, although for years before that the victim was strangled before the fire was lit.

I refuse to eat Smithfield ham.  I know the facility is located in Smithfield, VA, but I associate the name with Queen Mary and the witch burnings at Smithfield, England.

We were much kinder in the country than Europe Tom, we tended to strangle them to death before burning them. Most of them here were killed in Scotland which is not surprising as they're still a bunch of savages. Naturally the most were murdered by the greatest killing machine in history, the Catholic church.

Well as the good sister Mary Margaret taught us, if they would not convert to Holy Mother The Church, they were better off dead.

On May 6, 2023 at Charles' coronation, rumor has it that Mrs. Harry & Meghan will not be invited because the King is pissed (in the colonies that means angry).

They will be invited, unthinkable not to have his son and daughter-in-law there. They might chose not to come of course, but I think they will.

Mrs. Harry is supposed to be starring in a T.V. expose revealing his side of the story about the screwed up royals. Isn't there a precedent with non-invitations in the Edward VIII mess?

The Duke and Duchess of Windsor did not attend the coronation of Elizabeth II in 1953, but I don't know if they simply turned down an invitation or if they were never invited. The Duke however had attended his brother's funeral the previous year.

Edward was officially stripped of his royal title (demoted) & banished from the country. The Royals (The Firm) were sent into a tailspin, & the media into a feeding frenzy. Both harlots involved were American divorcees, oh the horror. There are comparisons here, Mark.

Similarities to be sure. Edward VIII gave up the Crown but was given the title Duke of Windsor retaining the rank HRH, his wife however was denied the use of HRH.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex retain the title HRH but have agreed not to use it as long as they remain outside Royal life.

The dissimilarity is that Edward was supposed to be king whereas Harry is pretty far down the line from the throne.

Yes, there's no reason not to invite the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. As you say it would have been a trifle awkward if the man who was once King was present at the coronation of the woman whose father "took" his brother's Crown.

My niece when she was very young asked my mother why she left England and came to Canada.

My Mother said, because they won't let me become Queen of England.

It seemed to satisfy the young ones questioning at the time.

$1.5 billion dollars kills Israelis too. That's the money braindead has recently given Iran, who is responsible for this attack on Israel because they are the puppet masters. I hear the Taliban has now come out and said they're going to get involved, well they are muslims, just like the crowds that gathered in London to celebrate the murder of the innocents. Islam in action. The taliban have requested passage through other countries so as to get to Palestine to join forces with the nutters of Hamas. Not a bad thing really because these degenerates would soon be cutting each other's throats. Does anybody seriously think this would happen under Trump? Not a chance, he's too decisive and deadly to play around with and they know it.

Interesting to speculate on "what ifs", we only have our own personal opinions to go on. I don't quite see Trump as the World's Policeman subduing would be troublemakers simply by his very presence.

No, by his actions Mark. He was a strong decisive president and you didn't fool around when he was in the White House. The west desperately needs a strong leader and what have we got? He's an embarrassing joke, a crook and has been all his life. He's a compulsive liar too and the US has been going down hill his since the first day of him. Obarmy was just as bad with this lot, remember him having billions of dollars in cash no less, flown out to Iran? He was another closet muslim. I see the Dems are now clambering for a southern wall, just watch Pete support it now.
