A plethora of mass shootings breaking out over here in the colonies. Gun sales are at a record pace with more than 40 million recorded in 2021 & the grand total of guns in American hands stands at 400 million total. A Second Amendment & NRA dream come true which of course must make us safer eh? Yepper, when a bad guy sprays bullets in a crowded bar or restaurant, the good guys can whip out their guns & spray back. Only the unarmed will have to dive for cover under a table while the rest of us settle things like men. Now that is a vision which should fill us all with the warm feelings of safety.

Live respected, die regretted

Re:MASS SHOOTINGS

A retired cop was one of those killed, I knew it wasn't our Tommy as he's too old and decrepit retired to be out acting as security.

No need for any of us to get on the roundabout of gun control yet again, we know each others standpoints already.

I think he was killed trying to stop the guy. This dude was wearing body armour and a helmet with a cameria on the front so that other people at a far right web site he belongs to could also see it live. There's also something mentioned about a 180 page right up that he posted to this web site before doing it.

Maybe time for the Government to start shutting these extremist sites down. They have nothing to do with free speech but a lot to do with modivating hate though speech to the weak minded.

OMG Pete, you have a valid point here.

Shut the sites down? What sites? They haven't shut down the Taliban's site or its twitter account yet. Don't you think we should aim a little of your lockdown mentality at them sometime?

Major is correct & I take back my comment to Pete about him making sense. I plead temporary insanity & throw myself on the mercy of the court.

It's not the Taliban that are the problem shooting other Taliban in America that we are talking about. It's Americans shooting other Americans in their own country, and everyone should be asking why. Who the hell cares about twitter accounts and the Taliban in the first place. What kind of comparison is that suppose to be to an American problem.

You should apologize to me and call Art an "A hole" for even putting anything about Taliban and their tweeter accounts in the same post as a dead policeman who should be haled as true hero for trying to stop a madman.

Never heard such a dip shit comparison in all my life.

You still seem to be confused Art. We are talking about a mass shooting in Buffalo done by a white supremacist, not about the Taliban. And by the way it wasn't the Taliban that flew any planes into the twin towers if you remember. It was al Qaeda and the attack was orchestrated by Osama bin Laden. The mistake the Taliban made was giving terrorist groups safe harbour in their country.

The web sites that should be monitored and shut down are American extremist web sites that are trying to spread hate from the inside of America, not foreign ones. If you shut down the foreign ones then the intelligence people can't get a heads up of what's a threat to America and what's not. Those are always being monitored now by the way.

Hope this removed the confusion for you.

The Taliban and AlQuaida are all but the same. They are bound by allegiance, or Bayah, which they undertook in the early 90's. In fact, AlQuaida is subordinate to the Taliban, giving their leader and successors the honorific title of 'commander of the faithful.' If you think the Taliban had nothing to do with 9/11 you're sadly mistaken, they were up to their eyeballs in it. Now, once again, why does the fact that the Taliban have accounts at twitter etc not bother you? If you are looking for far right, you don't get farer right, or more extreme than them. Are you really naive enough to think that the US security forces rely upon the Taliban accounts on line for their intelligence on them? If they were dropped they'd be in the dark? And if the intell services rely upon the Taliban accounts for their intelligence, why should lunatic fascists sites be any different? Wouldn't taking them down have the same detrimental effect?

Taliban vs Al-Qaeda

Recent vents in the world, especially those that were man-made catastrophic, the Taliban and the Al-Qaeda, were the two “organizations” that were termed terrorists and were given the limelight. Both the Taliban and the Al Qaeda have Islamic origins, and are confused with one another, however, they are not the same and neither are their thoughts. The Taliban, an Arabic word which is translated to “student”, are the followers of Mullah Mohammed Omar and consists of religious students with a conservative mindset. They follow the Islamic laws known as “Shariah” and have held ground of Afghanistan until 2001. The Al Qaeda, which means “base” in Arabic, follow the instructions of Osama bin Laden who dictates the most stringent form of Islam. Al Qaeda’s basis to exist is to form Islamic leadership throughout the world.

Taliban

The Taliban has roots in Afghanistan which comprises of people who were raised in refugee camps or attended religious schools in Pakistan during the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. The Taliban has focused their power on a territorial withhold and not the whole world. The origin of Taliban is described as that being one of rage and vengeance. the story entails that when Mullah Mohammad Omar and his students decided to take action against the incident of rape of boys and girls of a family traveling to Afghanistan. There are political origins to the formation of Taliban as well.

Al Qaeda

The Al Qaeda is traced back to the writings of an Islamic thinker who maintained that any kind of governance present in the world should be eradicated and replaced with the rules of Islam. The Al Qaeda consists of people with very conservative thoughts, those that may have been altered to be strict than what Islam entails. The agenda for Al Qaeda is to go global and instill a fear in people, especially the United States, which is a big power in the world.

Difference between Taliban and Al Qaeda

The major difference between the Taliban and Al Qaeda is in their origins. Where Taliban started their movement in 1996 from Afghanistan, the Al Qaeda only grew stronger after Osama bin Laden became the leader, but their scripture and guidelines have been present for a large umber of years. Mullah Mohammad Omar is the leader of Taliban whereas Osama bin Laden leads the AL Qaeda. The Al Qaeda also consists of people following the Sunni sect of Islam, however, those that only follow Wahabiism, the Taliban has the locals of Afghanistan as its main followers, not necessarily a particular sect of Islam. Taliban also serve to just have control of a particular territory, especially Afghanistan, the Al Qaeda however, want a stronger control, especially that of the United States and therefore the whole world.

Conclusion

Though both Taliban and Al Qaeda are powers to be feared because of their stringent rules and treatments, both have been successful in creating a fear in the world. The sad part remains that both Taliban and Al Qaeda give a picture of Islam which is not a true one.

You seem to be confused Art what is Free speech and what is Hate speech and can't seem to stay on the topic without shifting it to something different as long as it's far right wing. Now you have switch again to beating on the Muslims when we are talking about a mass murder in a supermarket by an admitted white supremacist.

Hate speech is this country is against the Law and you can go to jail for it.

Section 1 of the Charter, known as the limitations clause, allows governments to justify certain infringements of Charter rights. If a court finds that a Charter right has been infringed, it conducts an analysis under section 1 by applying the Oakes test, a form of proportionality review. Infringements are upheld if the government's objective in infringing the right is "pressing and substantial" in a "free and democratic society", and if the infringement can be "demonstrably justified".[2] The Supreme Court of Canada has applied the Oakes test to uphold laws against hate speech (e.g., in R v Keegstra) and obscenity (e.g., in R v Butler). Section 1 also confirms that the rights listed in the Charter are guaranteed.

Hate speech is defined by the Cambridge Dictionary as "public speech that expresses hate or encourages violence towards a person or group based on something such as race, religion, sex, or sexual orientation".[1] Hate speech is "usually thought to include communications of animosity or disparagement of an individual or a group on account of a group characteristic such as race, colour, national origin, sex, disability, religion, or sexual orientation".[2] Legal definitions of hate speech varies from country to country.

There has been much debate over freedom of speech, hate speech, and hate speech legislation.[3] The laws of some countries describe hate speech as speech, gestures, conduct, writing, or displays that incite violence or prejudicial actions against a group or individuals on the basis of their membership in the group, or that disparage or intimidate a group or individuals on the basis of their membership in the group. The law may identify a group based on certain characteristics.[4][5][6] In some countries, hate speech is not a legal term.[7] Additionally, in some countries, including the United States, much of what falls under the category of "hate speech" is constitutionally protected.[8][9] In other countries, a victim of hate speech may seek redress under civil lawcriminal law, or both.

Now you have switch again to beating on the Muslims when we are talking about a mass murder in a supermarket by an admitted white supremacist. Firstly, one man's hate speech is another man's free speech and visa versa. I know your kind, all speech you disagree with can be categorised as hate speech. What is hate speech, can you define it for me? If I say that muslims have committed 41,418 recorded terrorist attacks since 9/11, resulting in the death or injury to tens of thousands of people, is that fact hate speech or the truth? Am I beating up on muslims by revealing that fact? Muslims might enjoy your arse licking but I'm not sure their victims will. There has been much debate over freedom of speech, hate speech, and hate speech legislation.[3] The laws of some countries describe hate speech as speech, gestures, conduct, writing, or displays that incite violence or prejudicial actions against a group or individuals on the basis of their membership in the group, The laws of some countries? Interesting phrase that. What countries? If you're talking about Christians in any muslim country and the way they are treated by the majority muslim population then I agree but no Christian is ever going to bring a successful case for hate speech in a muslim country. Free speech is an entirely western concept and clings on despite the efforts of your kind. Hate is in the eye of the beholder and in the western democracies, being offended is not a crime yet, despite your kind's best efforts so far.

The First Amendment clearly deals with freedom of speech, but it has been determined that does not mean "license" of speech. The example given is yelling fire in a crowded movie theater when there is no fire. Add the slander thingy & it goes on & on.

As deplorable and shocking as this latest shooting is, I find the lefty media almost taking deep breath relief that it has happened. For a start, it has completely taken away any coverage of the black, Daryl Brooks, who murdered 6 people and injured many more in the Christmas murder spree at Waukesha, when he deliberately dove into the crowd. He belongs to the ultra venomous black radical supremacist cult the Hebrew Israelites, not to mention being a child rapist, who calls for the removal of all whites from the USA. Is he not radical enough for your lefty's, or do we fall back one the old excuse.... well you've been doing it longer than we have neeerrrr. By the way, it wasn't the shooter who killed the people, it was the gun, which is a ridiculous statement until you read the Washington Post's report on Brooks, which said the people were killed by a SUV. Strange how every lefty nutter and his brother are blaming the entire white race and of course every Republican voter for this outrage, yet when a muslim murders a few thousand the left implore you not to paint every muslim with the same brush.

The Great Replacement Theory Being fostered by the extreme white supremist types. In a nutshell the whites are being replaced by black, browns, yellow, LGBT types, & in a few years the percentage of the country will no longer be white. An addendum to the theory is it is crafted & carried out by the Jews, who have been the scapegoats for centuries. In other words anyone who does not look white. Now historically the blacks were here in America since 1619. The great immigration of the Irish, Germans, Italians, eastern Europeans came in the middle to late 1800's. So can it be argued that those other than black actually replaced them in the first place?

You all seem to be missing the point why so many people from down and out countries want to come and live in our countries. There are a few simple reasons.

The west is looked on as the land of opportunity with a live style there countries lack.

It they have no jobs and are starving in their countries, coupled with a corrupt government, who wouldn't want to get out of theirs and move to the west.

Everyone here would want the same for themselves and their families.

North America made the mistake of being short on people to grow and expand and let people from other countries who were all looking for a better life and a new start come in.

Newcomers where welcome during that period and they adapted well to our live style and ways.

Things are changing now and the newcomers are still coming but instead of them adapting to our ways want up all to adapt to theirs. We soon won't be rulers of our own countries.

Now Britain is a different story and their main problem is they live too close to Europe which is only a stepping stone away.

Unfortunitly, Britain has turned into the last step.

We can complain and grubble all we want, but nothing will change.

The latest on the Buffalo Mass Shootings at the grocery store. All the politicians from Biden on down show up for the photo ops, the typical candlelight vigils, statements from family members killed indicating their deceased member was a "saint." The lawyers & race baiters like Al Sharpton circling the massacre site like the vultures they are, & now the latest in this saga:

Some guy goes into a supermarket (from the same chain) located several miles away from the mass shooting site, harasses customers, the manager asks him to leave & he becomes violent & threatening violence & mass shootings at the location he is at now & mentions the mass shooting at the other location. The cops called & the suspect is arrested & charged with two felonies punishable by 7 years in the slammer. There is a white powder capsule in his pants pocket which is suspected heroin. He has a record of erratic behavior in the past, he is taken before a judge, the D.A. requests some forensic exams, & bail set, the judge denies both & releases him on his own recognizance, the suspect is scheduled to appear in court again next week.

Synopsis - All this less than one week after the mass shooting. The "alleged" mass shooter & the current suspect mentioned in this post have similar background behavior. Both taken into custody & nothing remedial was done to rectify the situation. WHY YOU ASK? New York State Bail Reform is the answer. And the beat goes on while our politicians wrestle with the overwhelming issues of the day, like changing the name of the Mario Cuomo Bridge back to the original Tappan Zee name.

We live in an age where the perpetrator has to be seen as a victim in his own right.
