The longest fence in the world is in Australia. It is slightly longer than the distance between N.Y. & London. Called the "Dingo Fence" for keeping the wild dogs out of places where they shouldn't be.

Absolutely Shula. I have turkey feathers on all my cowboy hats. Left side of course, I am a stickler for etiquette..................especially in my dress code. Except when I go "Fetterman" of course.

The book "No More Tears: The Dark Secrets of Johnson & Johnson" is a takedown of a single company, but it indicts the entire system that produces our pharmaceutical and medical products. Wealth of the shareholders vs safety of the consumer, the very root of the problem.

Tom, why is the feather on the left side?  I checked and indeed the feathers here (quail) are on the left.  I never thought to wrest the reason from him.

Shula, I was always told it was to keep you from putting your hat on backwards, but there must be some other reasons. Seems kinda dumb, eh?

Not dumb at all Tom, from a man's point of view at least.  I figured out the real reason and it is simply to make sure you're walking in the right direction.  You'd walk backwards, I think, if you put the feather on the right.  That might be the same as putting your hat on backwards.  I don't know.  You men are a complicated mess.  Like cargo pants.  Why do you need pockets on the outside of your pockets which have little pockets inside them?

In the relentless war to discredit whites living today for actions taken over 150 years ago in the days of the Atlantic slave trade, I’ve never heard a word of appreciation from the black racism industry about Britain’s role in ending it. The galactic amounts of money they spent, the hundreds of British lives that were lost in that war. Thomas Sowell has but he’s a voice in the wilderness where this is involved. The Royal Navy’s west Africa squadron is nothing more than an inconvenient truth they’re happy to brush aside or completely ignore. Have any of you ever heard a black mention it? I know the answer. For sixty years they patrolled the seas, stopping slave ships and rescuing the slaves. They captured over 1500 slave ships and rescued 150,000 slaves, an astonishing achievement and during that war they themselves lost 1600 sailor’s lives, one for every 100 liberated slaves.

If you think for a moment the world, including Africa, was grateful for this unilateral declaration from Britain, forget it, there were just a tiny handful which supported it but not a one involved in it, especially the African countries, who had grown quite rich on the business. Most country’s attitude was, who the hell do the British think they are stopping us from trading slaves? What’s it got to do with them what we do? The African slavers were actually paid by the government to stop. The only other nation which took any action against the trade was the US but only on a small scale. In 1842 they had agreed to fight the trade together and did so until the start of the civil war when the US dropped out but Lincoln gave The RN permission to board any suspect US ship. The end of the US civil war would effectively end the slave trade and the RN retired it’s anti slaving squadron.

The British conquered the world with military & economics. Stole treasures & culture from every country they subjugated, but it was done in such a noble & civilized way. How British, eh?

None do it better Tom. When the pyramids have gone through wars etc, the world will still get the chance to see one at the British museum’s very large extension.
