United Kingdom has 85,000 reported rapes a year and America which has 7 times more people only had 93,883 and you call this figures minuscule. Are you daft and living in a cave?

Probably the main thing by changing Roe vs Wade did was take away women's rights to their own bodies and by doing so, you have put them back in time before they even had a vote. They will be looked on as nothing more than baby machines.

They for sure aren't judged as being equal anymore and just to report if they have been raped may soon be completely ignored.

The houses down Hulme all had outside toilets. I well remember the horror of climbing down the stairs, which were as steep as siege ladders in those houses, and crossing the yard outside to go to the outside toilet in the middle of the night.  Why outside? Because in the days when those houses were built it was considered a big no-no to have one indoors, positively unhygienic in fact. My home still had an outside toilet when I first moved in. I saw my first tele at my uncles, it had a 12 inch screen. He served in the navy through the entire war (most of my family did) and told us he was gifted with luck. Every convoy he sailed on never got attacked. He was also part of the Royal Navy gunners who we're stationed on merchant ships to lure subs to the surface and had to wear civilian clothes, as to be caught in a RN uniform on a merchant ship meant the firing squad. Again, he got a free ride. My dad (his brother) never got to serve because of a bad heart. When he was born the doc told his mother he'd be lucky to live to seven, then he was refused service because of it, which devastated him. He eventually died of heart failure, aged 89. He spent the war on transport of all kinds, delivering trucks around the country. Trucks in those days were like wind tunnels he said and you drove everywhere with blankets over your legs in winter as the wind came straight through big holes in the floor where the pedals went through. Then the American trucks arrived....luxury! He couldn't believe them. The only fatality in our family was my uncle James, my mother's brother, who was killed at Anzio aged 19. He served in the Inniskillen Fusileers or the fighting skins as they were known.

Lots of opportunities for plumbers eh? That generation during WWII was indeed the greatest & I think we may never see another like it.

I might have mentioned in the past about one of my neighbours who passed my house everyday going up the lane, back in 85. When I finally talked to him he turned out to be a Black Watch soldier, so I asked him how come a Manchester lad ended up in the Black Watch, landing two days after D'Day and he told me that's where they put him as 40% of the Black Watch who landed in France were English. The fact was, most Welsh Irish ands Scot's regiments couldn't recruit from their own countrymen, so they had to have Englishmen to fill the gaps. My uncle John being a prime example ie, recruited into the Inniskillen Fusileers. The population of England is ten times that of Scotland and fifteen times that of Wales.
