After several beautiful speeches the Speaker was just about to put the question when a congressman arose to speak against it. He claimed that Congress has no right to appropriate a dollar of public money for charity, even so some eloquent appeals have been made to do so. He added that we have the right to give as much of our personal money to the cause & offered up on week of his own pay & challenged other members to do the same. The congressman took his seat & nobody replied. The vote was taken & failed to pass as was a certainty before the speech. That Congressman was none other than Davy Crockett when he was in Congress during the 1830's & the spirit of the law seems lost in today's politicians. I have never known, or indeed ever heard of a politician that didn't like spending other people's money, until now. Me either Major. A spirit that has been lost in the ages. |

What has our feckless leader proposed to combat all this? Price controls is the answer. Price controls, you know the strategy that did not work for us in the 70's which lead to long lines at the gas stations among other inconveniences. With his other strategies of releasing petroleum from the naval reserves, no fracking or drilling for more oil has led to this disaster spreading all over the world. Especially in Europe which Putin has by the "short hairs" for energy products. Now the emboldened little dictator has annexed part of Ukraine, by popular vote of course. If the crisis there continues with more Russian military defeats, beware of a tactical nuclear strike to even things out. Let us hope for Putin's removal in the typical Russian manner. |

By announcing a land grab to a patriotic fanfare he looks strong. In reality his army does not actually control about 20% of the annexed lands and is retreating daily, that fact of course is being kept from the public. Added to that is his scowling at the camera and issuing bloodcurdling threats to frighten the West. The answer is to keep calm and carry on supplying weapons and training to Ukraine. You're playing chess with Fate and Fate's winning.

Francis, a Malaysian businessman whose company fueled & provisioned ships, overbilled the U.S. Navy $35 billion, bribed U.S. officers with hookers, Kobe beef, & fancy cigars to get them to direct their ships to ports he controlled in Asia. More than 30 officers were convicted based on Francis's testimony in court. Another example of capitalism at its finest. |

It's improved a bit since, up to $1.11, still low though. The panic here is a prime example of short-sightedness, in this digital age we expect instant results, Truss' plan has its backers who say it'll work out in time, but if it doesn't show instant benefits some elements get hysterical and start prophesying a full blown economic meltdown. |

Created in 1921 which was the same year as the Irish War of Independence when its boundaries were deliberately drawn to ensure a Proddy majority. This was supposed to secure Northern Ireland's place in the U.K. But now with the Papists in the majority & Sinn Fein clamoring to join the Republic of Ireland it appears to be a watershed for Irish unity. Unionism there is crumbling & a severing from the U.K. is in the making. |

BUT WAIT...........A one-eyed yellowtail rockfish at the Vancouver Aquarium was given a prosthetic eye by the facility's head veterinarian after being bullied by its fellow fish on its blind side. Now there is fish bullying in Canuckistan. Now if our vets are that good then you can imagine how advanced our Doctors are. |
