Re:Don't Start Another Date Posted:2022-12-10 10:21:14Copy HTML Somebody stop me before I Karen. Our local weather girl, who, I hasten to add, is accurate, pleasant to look at and has a nice speaking voice, has been referring to 21 December as the winter equinox for the past two weeks. It's been like fingernails on a chalk board. If I call in a correction that it is the winter solstice, not an equinox, I come off as a Karen. If I don't correct her, I'll feel like a schlump for not stepping up. Maybe she will correct herself and I won't have to have an OCD meltdown. Best case scenario, someone else will call in a correction. Otherwise, until December 21st, it's SCREEECH. You might send her this link, https://www.britannica.com/story/whats-the-difference-between-a-solstice-and-an-equinox She may not know, the difference between the two. |

Re:Don't Start Another Date Posted:2022-12-10 11:22:18Copy HTML In the People's Republic of Canada the wait time for a doctor's appointment has gone from bad to worse. Ontario has the shortest wait of 18.5 weeks with Nova Scotia the longest of 53.2 weeks. You see countless cars with Ontario plates at Buffalo N.Y. hospitals & medical centers because a drive across the Peace Bridge only takes a few minutes. If Trudeau allows it of course. |

Re:Don't Start Another Date Posted:2022-12-11 03:36:25Copy HTML Which leads to another question. Is Harry still the Duke of Sussex, or has he been defrocked. What about the victim, poor Meghan, does she still have a title? |

Re:Don't Start Another Date Posted:2022-12-11 09:45:48Copy HTML That's what I thought. William & Kate are now The Prince & Princess of Wales, did that happen after the Queen passed & Charles & Camilla moved up so their titles were passed on to the next in line? Tommy the Learning Not quite. The second that the Queen died Prince Charles became King. William thus became Duke of Cornwall and Rothesay, the only titles that are automatically held by the eldest son of the Monarch. The title is Prince of Wales was bestowed the following day, it is not automatic. King Charles was Duke of Cornwall and Rothesay the instant his mother became Queen in 1952, he was not created Prince of Wales until 1958. Harry and Meghan are still Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and will remain so unless they chose to relinquish their titles as they can under the Peerage Act 1963. There is no law at the moment that allows the Monarch to strip them of those titles. Some have mentioned the Titles Deprivation Act of 1917 as a means by which they can have their titles taken away. However the Act is so worded that a person can only be deprived of their title if they have "borne arms against His Majesty, or have adhered to His Majesty's enemies" neither of which apply in Prince Harry's case. Four Lords were stripped of their titles in 1919 for allying with Germany during the war. It would require a new law or a revision of the current one to deprive him of his Royal titles. |

Re:Don't Start Another Date Posted:2022-12-14 07:34:58Copy HTML Bowling was introduced in ancient Germany not as a sport, but as a religious ceremony. The "kegel" or bowling pin represented the sinner, & if the sinner could knock it over with a round stone they were cleansed of sin. Imagine that? A bit easier from penance given by the mon signor. |

Re:Don't Start Another Date Posted:2022-12-15 05:07:50Copy HTML Andrew Morton lied for years about the origin of the royal biography that made his career when Diana: Her True Story rattled the House of Windsor in 1992. Morton insisted that his subject the Princess of Wales was not the source of his information. But after Diana's death in 1997 he finally "fessed up" & admitted that Diana had provided him with information, tapes, & other evidence which revealed Charles' banging Camilla Parker Bowles & the Windsor's were suppressing the truth. This revelation made Morton's life suspenseful according to him. He had to constantly look over his shoulder & beware of being pushed in front of a subway train in fear of the royal powers to do bad things. Morton's best-selling new biography of Queen Elizabeth II is now out. Oh goody I just love the gossip. Maybe Morton will get whacked this time. And on that topic, the next series of Harry & Meghan are due to air on T.V. tonight. |

Was just in the other day getting the final staple removed and had a physical at the same time. Said it was the best specimen of mankind he had seen in years. My town not only has many Doctors to chose from, but it also has a lot of walk in Clinics. Don't you wish you had the same good healthcare system Canada does Tommy? The best part is not having to pay to see a doctor or surgeon. You will never see it with a Republican Government in power, so eat your heart out Cinderella. |

Do they still have that station called the naked news where the weather girl is giving the weather naked? I never did remember was the weather was suppose to be like in my area. |

We had a couple inches of snow but the next day it melted a bit and turned the roads into glare ice that night when the temperature dropped. They are fast here to brim the highways ahead of time if they know we are getting snow. Also in town they usually have the streets and sidewalks down before people have to leave for work in the morning. Minus 2C here right now. Going down to minus 6C tonight. |

Re:Don't Start Another Date Posted:2022-12-18 05:01:46Copy HTML Yepper, "free" doctors often give misdiagnosis Pete & that is why Canucks flee to Buffalo for treatment. Do you think Canadian Doctors work for nothing Tommy? They are free to us but they are paid though our healthcare plan. Canadian Shoppers don't even go to Buffalo anymore because they can get it just as cheep in Canada especially right now. The only ones seeking medical treatment in Beeffalo are Americans who live and work in Canada. Your cases of Covid, and the Flu are right off the charts and that one hitting the young ones isn't doing much better. You have a lousy healthcare system mainly being held back by the Republicans. We have far less cases by percent that America has and most provinces have already peaked with the Flu. Canadians aren't afraid to get vaccinated and that's what has kept our numbers down. Good healthcare isn't a privilege, it's a right in any Democracy. |
