Guess what? The recently deceased Ali Larijani, head of Iran's Supreme National Security Council and a man with the blood of over 30,00 innocents on his hands, and that's just from January, has got a daughter teaching at Emory University in Atlanta.

She has been terminated from her position.

The Royal Navy has been reduced by a full 50% in just 30 years. Both conservative and labour governments are responsible for this disgusting state of affairs. It is state inflicted decline. However, we still give away 13 1/2 billion a year in foreign aid, creating hundreds of despotic, political millionaires over the last 50 years.

Donald Trump is the most powerful man in the world, & also the most impressionable. Some regard him as an empty vessel waiting to be filled with other people's bad ideas. His decision to bomb Iran for example. He was manipulated by Israel & its partners inside the U.S. He is also influenced by war hawks Sen. Lindsey Graham, & White House advisor Stephen Miller. Or is Trump a 79-year-old man who does exactly as he wants, whether that's going to war with the mullahs, pardoning fraudsters and crypto crooks, or slapping tariffs on the rest of the world. Or is Trump anointed by Jesus to start a Middle East war to save Israel, trigger Armageddon, and bring the second coming of Christ, as predicted in the book of Revelation.

The first one for sure. No way did he think he'd be fighting this war four weeks in, just like Putin, he's bitten off more than he can chew. Did he or any of his advisors think about the Strait of Hormuz? Did they not foresee that Iran could shut it down with ease and despite all his talk of "obliterating" Iran they're still firing back. Any sensible strategist would have had naval resources in place BEFORE launching an attack, isn't that what the Fifth Fleet is for? Instead he's shouting about escalating things further while waiting for the necessary ground troops (and they will be required) to arrive from Okinawa for God's sake!

A total idiot who has put the world at grave risk, certainly economically if not militarily, without thought. All so he can appear as the world strongman. What an utter arsehole he is. Hopefully after November he'll be neutered.

Pakistan For decades we could apply for work or education visas, family reunification programs, or asylum in the U.S., U.K., or Canada. We were able to immigrate in search of a better life. But Western nations responding to populist movements and overstressed social systems, are closing those magic doors. This is all bad news for those who want to move abroad, so let our bright graduates focus their energies on improving things in Pakistan. Maybe without those escape routes to the West, citizens will increase pressure on our own government to get its act together. Source Bina Shah, Dawn

That's the one good thing about overseas aid, it ought to be directed at heling countries to help themselves and giving them a standard of living so they won't feel the need to come here.

Mark makes a good point re: the Strait of Hormuz. Securing it should have been the first priority, reminds me of the debacle in Afghanistan when we abandoned the base at Bagram FIRST before the evacuation.

For a start, Bagram wouldn't have happened under Trump. Putting aside Mark's Trump Derangement Syndrome for a minute, Do you honestly believe he thought the war would end in two weeks? You're more deluded than I thought. Guess what? And this is going to come as a massive shock to you, he actually spoke to his military commanders before giving the OK, he didn't wake up in the morning, pick up the phone and declare war. Iran still firing back? When they get down to catapults you'll still be saying that. Did the US military think of Hormuz? Y'know, I bet they didn't even know it existed, right Mark? I bet that a week after the war kicked off they were running around trying to buy a map. 'Any sensible strategist would have had naval resources in place BEFORE launching an attack, isn't that what the Fifth Fleet is for?' So remind me, what were they flying fighters from? Where were they flying them from? If only the mightiest airforce, navy and army in history had only had you to guide them, so far they've been flying around like headlesss chickens looking for something to aim at and it's all Trump's fault. Tell me something, you being a global strategist, are the rest of the middle east against what's happening to Iran? Why they're loving it, even though Israel is involved and why is that do you think? Surely it's not because they have a psychopath as a neighbour? And what about Europe now? Iran has exposed the fact that they can hit Europe and if they had a nuclear bomb, what then? Make no bones, the minute that rocket was exposed, Europe knew the game was up. Iran could nuke them and don't think common sense enters the equation in Iran. These are radical muslim nutters, they don't think or act like normal humans. Every president before Trump, going back to Bush probably, has regretted not facing up to the threat and said so when they left office, Trump won't say that. Let me sooth your rabid, Trump destroyed mind Mark. Three weeks is not a long time, get back to me in three months. Remember, Britain couldn't get a single ship out of harbour in three weeks, never mind run a war with the kind of mind blowing skills the US is using right now.

If you're looking for hypocrisy here Tom, you'll not get it from Trump. Mueller conspired, using the power of the state, to destroy Trump's life, so what do you expect him to do? I'll join him..... good riddance.

OK Major let's take a look at the man's record of public service. War hero, twice appointed Director of the FBI, once under Bush, once under Obama, that is one Republican & one Democratic administration. Both times the Senate vote to appoint him was 100%. So perhaps he was just doing his usual thorough job in investigating Trump? Trump just revealed himself once again as being a small person with his unkind remark. He should have just said nothing.

Going back to Trump's "plan" for Iran. I can't believe that it was to pound it from afar leaving the vital Strait of Hormuz open to attack. Then when it became too risky for tankers to sail through he'd call in troops from the Pacific thousands of miles away. Admit it, he didn't think that Iran would still be fighting a month on. He was mesmerised by the Venezuela affair into thinking he could take anyone on and knock them out in a few days.

How many times has he told us that Iran is on the brink of capitulating? Then more missiles hit targets hundreds of miles away. He'll be the one demanding a ceasefire with the regime still on its feet. No regime change, the uprising he expected won't happen now, not from the Kurds nor the Iranians themselves simply because Trump is an unreliable ally they won't trust to help them out long term. A goldish has better powers of concentration.

Most of us suspected that Trump would ruin us with his childlike behaviour, we're seeing it in action now.

When the highly trained, loyal bodyguards and drivers of senior Iranian officials came to work near Pasteur Street in Tehran, where Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in an Israeli air strike on Saturday, Feb.28, the Israelis were watching. Nearly all the traffic cameras in Tehran had been hacked for years. One being particularly useful by determining where the guards liked to park their cars & the routes they took to work. Unit 8200, the human assets recruited by Mossad, put the mountains of data digested by military intelligence into daily briefs. Israel used a mathematical method known as social network analysis to parse billions of data points & determine when and where the target would be. The result was the assassination of Iran's supreme leader and a cadre of other high officials. Now Khamenei is among the martyrs.
